I have read about Eastern philosophy on and off since high school when the music of George Harrison got me interested in learning more about Hinduism and Indian culture. I came across the idea of writing in riddles so that a certain cognitive dissonance would trigger a philosophical or spiritual insight. This seems to be a literary tradition in some Eastern texts.
